Cindy Weigel has more than 30 years’ experience in providing leadership to public and private organizations that work to improve outcomes for young children and families. A large portion of her career has focused on infants, toddlers, and young children with disabilities. Currently, she is providing technical assistance for the Center for IDEA Early Childhood Data Systems (DaSy Center), supporting states with collecting, reporting, analyzing, and using data and enhancing state data systems for early intervention and early childhood special education programs supported through the Individuals with disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Before joining SRI, Weigel served in state government for more than a decade coordinating a large-scale IDEA Part C systems change project involving implementation of evidence-based practices, data system development, and evaluation using quantitative and qualitative methods. She has experience in qualitative research with a focus on early childhood special education and families experiencing poverty.
